Experienced Game DevOps Engineer
Full-time remote position | Working from home | UK residents only
As a Games DevOps Engineer, you will help deliver high-quality games while creating production and development workflows, build and art pipelines and solve technical challenges for hardware architecture and game builds and updates. You will also help ensure the developers have a effective work environment, diagnosing issues, and optimising the development & build environment to support delivery of the game.
You will collaborate with other disciplines such as Programming, Art, Design, VFX and Audio to realise our creative vision for current and future games development at Surgent Studios.
What the role entails:
Working with the DevOps & technical team to support the developers in their effort to build the highest quality games
Communicating ideas, collaborating with other teammates, and suggesting solutions
Creating and implementing appropriate tools & pipelines
Collaborating with the Code and Art teams to diagnose technical bugs and ensure builds are created effectively.
Helping define and enforce standards and processes for technical solutions
Being motivated and organised in delivering work to meet milestone deadlines
Working autonomously where specialist knowledge is required
What we’d like to see from you:
A positive personality - being a team player comes naturally
2+ years of experience with Unreal Engine 4 or newer
Shipped at least 2 games on PC and current Console hardware
Knowledge working with Perforce backend
Strong Knowledge of creating tools & scripts for Perforce frontend
Knowledge of working with Git
Excellent knowledge working with TeamCity
Experience in security/cryptography
Experience in JavaScript/Typescript and a frontend framework like Angular/React
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A passion for making games and solving technical problems
Desirable but not essential:
Experience with C++ and C#
Experience with Horde (Unreal CI)
Experience with Ruby on Rails
Experience with Docker
Reasonable knowledge of at least one cloud provider
Reasonable knowledge in Networking / VPN
Reasonable knowledge in GraphQL / Rest APIs
Worked with Wwise and other UE Plugins
Experience or enthusiasm for working with remote teams
Keenness in developing knowledge and expertise as a DevOps Engineer
Reporting:
The Experienced Game DevOps Engineer role reports to and is managed by the CTO.
